The single-column hydraulic screen changer is a core filtration device used in extrusion production lines for polymer materials such as plastics, rubber, and synthetic fibers. Its key advantage lies in its ability to perform screen changes without stopping production, effectively ensuring production continuity while improving product quality and equipment utilization efficiency. It is suitable for a wide range of continuous extrusion production scenarios.
Core Functions and Operating Principle
Non-stop Screen Change: Featuring a dual-station design (Station A in operation, Station B on standby), when the main screen becomes clogged with impurities and pressure rises to the preset value, the hydraulic system drives a piston to push the spare screen into the working position within seconds while simultaneously removing the old screen for replacement—all without stopping production.
Stable Pressure: During screen changes, system pressure fluctuations are controlled within ±0.3 MPa, ensuring consistent product quality.
Wide Range of Applications: Capable of withstanding pressures up to 50 MPa and temperatures up to 400°C, suitable for processing various thermoplastic materials such as PP, PE, PET, PC, and PLA.
Main Structural Components
Screen Change Cylinder: Forged as a single piece from high-strength alloy steel, resistant to high temperatures and pressures.
Filter Screen Assembly: Multi-layer sintered stainless steel screens (mesh size 80–400) capable of intercepting micron-level particulate impurities.
Hydraulic Drive System: Enables rapid slide-plate switching, with screen change time typically ≤3 seconds.
Sealing Device: Features rigid seals or graphite ring structures to ensure no leakage of high-temperature melt.
